A dialogue between heritage and futurism.
Matríaca Studio
Founded by knitwear designer Natalia Bermeo, Matriacá Studio explores the dialogue between heritage and futurism. Each piece is a meditation on lineage, memory, and modernity — crafted with precision, emotion, and a reverence for the women who wove before her.
Rooted in Ecuadorian craftsmanship and refined through a New York design sensibility, Matriacá Studio redefines knitwear as both structure and story — a tactile record of cultural resilience and visionary design.

Approach
Our design language fuses ancestral techniques with contemporary form. We translate gestures of handcraft into new technologies — merging manual knitting, digital patternmaking, and experimental silhouettes.
Matriacá Studio believes in slow innovation: every piece is intentional, sculptural, and enduring. We honor tradition not as nostalgia, but as a foundation for progress.
Material
Material is our medium of storytelling. Each fiber carries the memory of the hand, the rhythm of the loom, the texture of the land. We source natural, traceable, and high-quality materials, combiningorganic yarns, recycled fibers, and artisanal handworkwith advanced construction.
Our goal is to create knitwear that feels alive, built to last, evolve, and connect across generations.
Craft
At the core of Matriacá Studio lies a devotion to craft. From the first sketch to the final thread, every process is a study in precision. We work in small runs and value hand-finishing, preserving the intimacy between maker and garment.
This commitment to craftsmanship allows each piece to retain its authentic imperfections — a quiet testament to human touch.
Space
Matriacá Studio’s physical and digital spaces mirror the spirit of our design. Minimal yet warm, sculptural yet organic. They exist as environments for reflection and renewal — places wherecraft, community, and creativityconverge.
Our vision extends beyond fashion, into a world where design can nurtureconnection, sustainability, and cultural continuity.
Legacy
Matriacá Studio is an ongoing conversation betweenpast and future, a project of preservation and reinvention. Through knitwear, we trace the hands of our mothers, grandmothers, and ancestors — transforming their wisdom into contemporary forms that look forward without forgetting where we come from.
